VA Benefits - 2010 Limits
House-Bound Benefits:
- Income Limits: $1,510 per month - veteran with 1 dependent.
- $1,204 per month - veteran with no dependents.
- $1,012 per month - surviving spouse with 1 dependent.
- $808 per month - surviving spouse with no dependents.
Aid and Attendance Benefits: Benefit / Countable Income Limits:
- $1,949 per month - veteran with 1 dependent.
- $1,644 per month - veteran with no dependents.
- $1,260 per month - surviving spouse with 1 dependent.
- $1,056 per month - surviving spouse with no dependents.
Asset Limits:
- Approximately $80,000 net worth.
- Home and personal effects are not counted in determining net worth.
- Only the veteran's or surviving spouse's proportionate share of jointly owned assets are counted in determining net worth.
- Assets are determined at the date of application. The rules governing VA benefits do not contain any penalties for the transfer of assets
