Wages and Earnings
In Texas, current wages for personal services are exempt.
Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma are more stringent on their exemptions for wages and earnings.
In Oklahoma, an individual may exempt 75% of all current wages or earnings for personal or professional services earned during the last 90 days.
In Kansas, all wages are exempt less the lesser of
- (i) 25% of the individual’s disposable earnings, or
- (ii) the amount such earnings exceed 30 times the federal minimum wage.
Missouri exemptions for wages and earnings is the same as Kansas except the Missouri exemption is reduced for the lesser of:
- (i) 10% of wages of the head of family,
- (ii) 25% of wages of others in the household, or
- (iii) the amount such earnings exceed 30 times the federal minimum wage.
